Vincent Sarda

Born 1989 in Toulouse, France.
Lives and works in France.

The French painter Vincent Sarda creates his body of work from a single, personal and secret, point of origin. His practice touches on being ritualistic in nature, with Sarda seeking to reach and manifest works from his own subconscious. The form of a drop takes center stage, with its unlimited shapes mutating and multiplying throughout his compositions. The surfaces are multilayered, with the artist routinely working over them in several sessions, adding and taking away - choosing from his toolbox of acrylic and spray paint, ink, water and acetone. The self-taught artist began painting as a child, supported by his architect father who also harbored artistic ambitions. To this day, Sarda finds inspiration in a multitude of disciplines - ranging from architecture to haute couture.

“The viewer has a duty to situate herself in the space of the work to form her opinion.”
